We’re in the Honey!

We’re back! Sorry for the Blog, or should I say the lack of the Blog. We have been busy with the bees and cows. Does that make our farm a B&B ( Bees & Bovines)?

We spent our 4th of July weekend taking off the honey supers and extracting honey. Last year was not a good year for honey, among other things, as you know. A late frost in February caused a loss of 80% of our hives. We were able to purchase bees, split a few hives, and capture some swarms. Then came an early spring and lots of sun and rain. The bees had fields of clover and the black locust and tulip popular trees were full of nectar. In addition, our 3 year old orchard has finally blossomed and the bees feasted on apple, pear, and peach blossoms. We got our first apples this year, thanks to the bees!

That being said, its our best year ever for honey. I’m so excited for you to try it!

Our local fair starts next month and we will be entering our honey, creamed honey, and wax. Wish us luck and I’ll let you know if we win! Either way, we are winners by just beeing!

I’m waiting for your orders! Thank you for buying our honey!
